In Finikia, one of Santorini’s shambling towns perched high above the water, this home is a combination of three 19th-century captain’s houses connected by a terrace. Each individual apartment has its own kitchen (although one is just a kitchenette with a stove-top and fridge) and at full occupancy, six guests will sleep on sofa beds. While each apartment offers privacy, folk can gather on the sprawling terraces for sundowners. Of course, a caldera view is all the rage on Santorini and this place has a gorgeous view of the Aegean from the Jacuzzi on the rooftop.

*You'll need to climb a small set of stairs to reach the terrace from the street door and it's within a winding, narrow old village, so this place may not be suitable for those with limited mobility
*This is a traditional, cave-style home kept naturally cool inside so there's not a lot of sunlight flooding in
