One of the city's most beloved beaches with a magnificent natural swimming pool (cameras at the ready, folks) is just a short flip-flop away. Then take a mosey along the promenade – a sunny spot at a seafront bar is waiting just for you to toast the day's end over sundowners. Or hop in the car bound for Funchal's centre (a five-minute drive) to keep the night flowing with Fado music and Poncha cocktails in the happening Zona Velha neighbourhood – it's just like you imagined, only better.
