If you fancy an afternoon boating on the lake, El Retiro Park is under a thirty-minute walk away – it’s also home to the Reina Sofía Museum, which exhibits 20th-century art. When you want to explore central Madrid, take a walk to Puente de Vallecas station on the Madrid Metro, seven minutes on foot, where trains will whisk you to the heart of the action in thirty minutes.
