Elysian:

This innovative home, equally colourful, contemporary and minimalistic all at the same time, is definitely one for design lovers. Walking into the home is an experience in itself, as you are immediately struck by the size of the space with its high ceilings and floating mezzanine. We loved the collection of enormous tropical plants, which add to the unique feel of the lounge area. While the bedroom only has a few items of furniture, it’s incredibly characterful and peaceful, with its wooden interior, exposed beams and large frosted window.

* This is a design-led home, those looking for a traditional homestay may want to look elsewhere
* Aside from a library of books, there are no entertainment options such as a TV or a sound system
* The bedroom design is minimalist and those staying here should be comfortable with the mattress being placed on the floor
* Upper Holloway station is only a nine-minute walk, but the nearest tube station is around a fifteen-minute walk
* This North London location will not be for everyone, but it only takes around half an hour to reach more central parts of the city
