Peak cottage appeal awaits at this thatched home set within the rolling Devon countryside. While the wonky lime-washed walls, narrow staircase, and rustic kitchen built into the former stables are impressive, it’s not overly accessible or toddler friendly. But we think it only adds to the charm. Outside, the grounds are vast, with an enclosed garden and orchard, an alfresco dining deck, and the use of a paddock. There’s also the adjoining shared barn with table tennis if the weather plays up. Location-wise, you’re just a twenty-minute drive to the seaside town of Lyme Regis, and the foodie haven, River Cottage, is even closer.
Home truths: *Due to this home's remote location, you'll need a car here, and there is ample parking outside.
*A travel cot and highchair are available on request. There is a pond within the grounds of the property. Children will need to be supervised at all times.
*If you’re travelling as a larger group, there is a neighbouring home sleeping four guests – speak to your host directly for more information. The adjoining barn with table tennis is shared with the neighbouring cottage.
*Please be mindful of a single low truss on the upper floor. There is also a narrow staircase and spilt floor levels upstairs, which may be unsuitable for guests with restricted mobility.
*The nearest amenities are in Membury, a mile away.
