Set aside a day or two to explore the local highlights - the powdery sands of Georgioupoli are a fifteen-minute drive or, if you’re seeking cultural delights, make the thirty-minute drive to Rethymno. This picturesque Venetian harbour beckons you to visit the Egyptian lighthouse along the ancient wharf while the cobbled streets lined with local tavernas invite you to sample local delicacies whilst the tide rolls in.
