A 12th-century church, two top-notch pubs offering high-quality food, a store, and a post office are all located in Kirkoswald. The area is well-known for walking, cycling, canoeing, hiking, and excellent salmon, and trout fishing along the neighbouring River Eden. There are literally miles of beautiful walkways that follow the course of the river and provide inviting areas for picnics and sightseeing. Expect gorges and caves throughout the trip and keep an eye out for the ten unique benchmark sculptures.
