Base yourself in Coppedè, one of Rome's most charming neighbourhoods. It's close to several leafy parks, including the sprawling Villa Borghese, as well as an array of traditional eateries and artisan shops. Each room here is ample in size and cosy to boot – the perfect hang-out after exploring Rome. The kitchen is well-stocked to rustle up an antipasto platter, while the sofa bed offers space for guests seven and eight. There are even two balconies here with views of the city – no wonder it ticks all our boxes.

*This is a quiet, residential area of Rome. It's not in the centre, but it’s a good base for sightseeing as long as you're comfortable taking public transit.
