With boutique shops, bustling restaurants, and traditional bakeries dishing up irresistible Bakewell puddings to refuel after bracing walks (the Monsal Trail is just five minutes from your door), its location is spot on.

Back home, this newly refurbished cottage housed in a Grade-II Listed 17th-century building is a home for all seasons. Cosy up on the velvet chesterfield sofa in the winter months with the papers and endless rounds of tea. And in warmer spells, potter outside onto the charming patio for drinks and nibbles. And the cherry on top? The lofted, serene bedroom upstairs with a king-sized bed that's got lie-ins written all over it.
