When thoughts turn to food, swing by the famous farmer's market, Mercado dos Lavradores (just a short walk away), to pick up supplies. Or simply lose yourself in the city's historic centre, Zona Velha, and seek out its authentic restaurants and Fado Bars for atmospheric evenings.
