A top-floor apartment in Bologna's quiet Quartiere Saragozza district, this home strikes us as ideal for a peaceful and romantic city break. There is plenty of space here, and we are especially fond of that large kitchen – although you won't want to miss trying the authentic local eateries either. And although the view isn't all that inspiring, the terrace offers the chance to enjoy the warmth and is perfect for some aperitifs under the sun. Despite the residential location, you're well-connected by public transport to the city centre.
Home truths: *This home overlooks other apartment buildings, so the views aren't the most inspiring.
*The communal areas of this building might appear a little worn and dated in parts – in particular, the dining table has perhaps seen better days.
*This home is located within an apartment building, with a shared entrance. Expect to bump into other guests during your stay.
*If you're travelling for work, you won't find a dedicated desk here. However, the dining table doubles up as a laptop-friendly workspace.
*Parking in Bologna can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible. That said, we think the best way to see the city is on foot.
