Luxury Cottage in Co. Down

Awarded: Winner of 2014 "Certificate of Excellence" by Trip Advisor

This charming 19th century cottage has recently been renovated to provide spacious, comfortable accommodation with an open plan kitchen and dining hall area leading into a cosy sitting room with gas fire.

The accommodation provides two beautifully furnished bedrooms, one double room with en suite (The Oyster-catcher), and one twin room (The Sandpiper) with separate bathroom. A conservatory leading from the dining hall overlooks a well laid out garden.

A comfortable two seater sofa is in the relaxing area of the kitchen.

Bookshelves in the hallway contain a variety of books, jigsaw puzzles and games.

A nautical theme runs through most of the cottage and continues into the garden with a beach themed area.

The well laid out garden, overlooked by the conservatory, can be enjoyed from the comfort of two rattan arm chairs.

The cottage is within walking distance of the town, local shops and restaurants as well as the beach and promenade and is ideally located for visits to the Mourne Mountains and Cooley Peninsula.

The owners private garden which adjoins the cottage garden has recently been judged "The Best Garden" in Newry and Mourne and awarded first prize at the Newry Agricultural Show held in June 2013.

"Couldn’t have hoped for better!"
Each family (2 adults & 2 small children) holiday we go on, we look to stay in a ‘cottage’ named rental. Cedar Cottage is by far, the most beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming place we’ve had the pleasure of staying. Norman couldn’t have been more helpful in relation to our booking and arrival. Fresh cupcakes and other complementary goodies welcomed us to the cottage. The cottage was pristinely clean, well appointed with a very tasteful ‘nautical theme’ throughout. Everything a ‘home away from home’ might need was made available right down to hot waterbottles and bathrobes! Equally importantly, the cottage is private, safe and secure.. a must for small children. Just a short walk (for little legs) takes you to the Main Street and beach.
We can’t praise this holiday cottage enough and give you full confidence that if you decide to stay at Cedar Cottage.. you will not be disappointed. We would happily have stayed longer and will most certainly re-book in the future

"Beautiful cottage in the Mournes"
I had a lovely time staying at Cedar Cottage. It exceeded our expectations. The cottage is charming and comfortable. All the essentials are provided generously. The interior is spacious, bright and airy. I particularly loved the conservatory which leads to the garden, it was so peaceful with birdsong and lovely knowing we were positioned so near to the beach. Without hesitation, I would say this is the best place I have stayed in and I have travelled widely. Cedar Cottage is a treasure in the Mournes. I will definitely return.

"Loved Cedar Cottage in Warrenpoint Ireland"
Cedar Cottage is a clean, lovely cottage and garden and the perfect location for our holiday. Convenient and within walking distance to shops, local pubs & fabulous restaurants and a variety of entertainment whether it be culture, nature or good auld pub atmosphere.
Norman and Rachael were very friendly, and helpful when we had inquires regarding traveling around, places to see, transportation etc. The Cottage also had literature with local place of interest in Ireland. The communication with them was on point from the time I inquired about letting the cottage, renting the cottage, and also during our stay. I had numerous questions about the cottage and they were answered within 24 hours of emailing them to the owners of Cedar Cottage. They even sent me photos of the entrance to the cottage so I would be able to find it easily upon arrival.
We loved the glass enclosed room that looks out onto the beautiful garden that surrounds the property. The sitting room, with fireplace, two couches and a large window that looks out onto the garden. Is the perfect place to watch television (excellent instructions for operating the remotes for the television and DVD player), read a book or just have afternoon rest. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable, with more than adequate supply of pillows and bed linens. The large bed had an electric heating element on it for chilly nights, and there was also a hot water bottle if needed. The two bathrooms were clean, spacious, and had plenty of towels, a nice surprise bonus were the fluffy, comfortable bathrobes supplied for everyone. The kitchen is well designed and contains everything you could possibly need. There is even a love seat in the kitchen.
I would highly recommend Cedar Cottage and would definitely choose to rent there on my next visit to Ireland
