There is also a train station in the town which offers a regular train service to Glasgow, Edinburgh and further afield. Being close to the magnificent Solway Firth, with over 200 miles of spectacular coastline to explore. Other local attractions include Caerlaverock, Threave and Drumlanrig Castles, Robert Burns' House, and the Aviation Museum, there are an array of golf courses locally as well as a fantastic wildlife reserve. It is a really lovely space to sit out and on an evening to enjoy the dark skies and star gaze with a glass of wine while snuggled under a cosy blanket in front of the roaring firepit. The area is a haven with birds and wildlife and there is another garden area to enjoy. This is shared with lovely mature trees, seating, lawn and bird feeders. It is a great place to just relax and listen to the birds. In the surrounding fields you can see the free rang chickens, sheep and horse roam.
