The Lodges have been in existance for over 12 years and underwent an extensive refurbishment programme in 2012 & 2013 formerly Ballyhoura Forest Homes now re branded Ballyhoura Mountain Lodges.
The holiday homes all have three bedrooms, open plan living rooms and fully equipped kitchens. They also include satellite TV, DVD player and a wood burning stove for added cosiness!. Linen and towels are provided. A highchair and cot are available on request.
The homes are situated in Ballyhoura country which is renowned for its authentic rural living experience, with its wealth of built and living heritage and world class facilities for recreation in the countryside, and is situated at the base of the acclaimed Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Park. The lodges are very comfortable. Three bedrooms, one with an en-suite, good sized lounge/kitchen/diner. The setting is attractive, adjacent to the village of Ballyorgan and in the middle of some of the loveliest landscapes in Ireland. There are several play areas around the site and access to some great walking routes directly from the lodges. Don't forget your groceries though as the closest shop is a fifteen minute drive.

Excellent location for a hike trails, cycling, horse riding, centre point for touring. Lovely local pub and friendly locals. The lodges are exceptionally facilitated with every modern house need for a week away. Maggie is an excellent host and on hand for all questions. Amazingly you pay for electricity separate which makes sense as the lodges are such good value. There’s a good local electric charge provided in the welcome pack along with all local info. The lodge had a lovely fire place which we lit even though it wasn’t that cold but added to the atmosphere. Some reviews I see call out the cold or electric charges I see but they should remember the price they are paying is great value and Ireland is not a tropical paradise lol. Kids loved it as totally safe for them to roam the playgrounds and woods on the holiday village. We will definitely be back.

"Superb" The lodge had everything that you could possibly need during your stay. The playgrounds and forest walk were brilliant for the children and we loved liting the cosy stove each night. The location is a great base for exploring Ballyhoura and beyond. We couldn't fault anything about our stay.

"Great spot, should have stayed longer, great even in Nov/Dec, popular year round"
Super place, well worth a visit! Perfect getaway for families and/or anyone who likes hiking/biking or just a nice stroll in the fresh air... :) Very nice setting in amongst the trees well worth traveling to and spending some quality relaxation time here! We brought kitchen items as it was our first time here but we were surprised how well kitted out the kitchen was, all appliances, everything and anything you’d need for cooking and dining for a few people was supplied, plates, knives and forks, good quality oven/fridge/microwave/kettle/toaster etc Everything was perfect, no problems at all. Great communication from host wrt collecting keys and making sure we were comfortable

"Idyllic retreat" Gorgeous place we stayed with two kids two adults and my special needs brother houses are fab but unless your into biking and hiking this location is a bit isolated you have to drive min 35 min to any local attraction but if u came with a group or wedding and hired the whole place it would be fantastic
