Feeling like an artist's home, this South Bank apartment has character in spades. While it may not be for everyone, the home's lived-in charm makes it stand out – it's perfect if you're looking for something a little different, and don't mind a bit of mismatched furniture and specks of paint on the sometimes uneven floorboards. And while you need to climb stairs to reach the second-floor entrance, the location is great – you'll find several museums nearby, including the Imperial War Museum and the Cinema Museum, while Elephant & Castle Tube Station is within walking distance, too.

*There's no lift here. You'll need to be able to climb stairs to reach the entrance of the home, which is on the second floor. *The style here might not be to everyone's taste. The floorboards are uneven in places, look a little tired and have some paint on them. Some of the furniture is mismatched. *Given the home's central spot, expect to hear some street noise throughout your stay. *While the kitchenette has an oven, it's on the small side. It might not be suitable for larger meals. *If you're travelling for work, you won't find a dedicated desk here. However, the dining table doubles up as a laptop-friendly workspace.
