Seeking a central spot in Madrid? This intimate studio apartment is situated in the heart of Lavapiés, perfect for those travelling for business or pleasure. In this no-frills home, some guests may find the kitchen's original support beam a bit awkward to navigate, and the lack of air conditioning tricky in the hotter months. But the location wins us over, as you'll discover the Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol a few metres away, plus bars and restaurants dotted about.

*Given the home's central spot, expect to hear some street noise throughout your stay. Light sleepers might want to pack earplugs.
*Space is limited here. Though this home can technically sleep two guests, we think it's best suited to a single traveller. And while we love the overall design of this home, it is lacking in natural light.
*Parking in Madrid can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible.
*If you're travelling for work, you won't find a dedicated desk here. However, the dining table doubles up as a laptop-friendly workspace.
