David and Miriam are wonderful, kind people. The cottage was clean, well stocked and on a very beautiful property. David helped us with our itinerary, including suggesting a ferry which ended up being the highlight of our trip. Could not recommend enough.

Dove Cottage, Oughterard was the perfect place for us to explore a stunning area of Ireland. David and Miriam are kind, thoughtful, generous and exceptional hosts, going above and beyond, living close by, but in no way intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble, and we left with many wonderful memories. Our accommodation was spotless, comfortable and ideal, all set in beautiful gardens, close to the amazing Lake Corrib. Their warmth and friendliness was memorable, and communications before we arrived were timely and helpful. The welcome hamper including fresh locally made bread from a brilliant Deli nearby called Sullivans became our “go to” place, and the thatched pub known as “Powers” our local for great food and atmosphere. A very memorable holiday in every way.

Our stay at Dove Cottage was everything we had hoped for and more for our Ireland leg of our three country holiday in Europe. David greeted us at the cottage and provided recommendations for dinner and lunches. Most graciously, David and Miriam stocked the fridge with yogurt, cheese, butter, and milk. A delicious loaf of brown bread, fresh from the bakery, accompanied the food. Maps and literature of the region were provided to help us determine places to visit. David and Miriam were present if we had questions or need of assistance. The cottage and grounds were very well taken care of and clean, with a cozy, safe, and quiet atmosphere in the Irish countryside. I highly recommend Dove Cottage. Thank you, David and Miriam, for a wonderful experience in your beautiful country, Ireland.

"Over the Moon Honeymoon!" We absolutely adored our stay at the Cottage! David, Miriam and little Pocket are the sweetest hosts! My husband and I took the redeye and flew six hours to get to the adorable town of Oughterard (Ook-ter-ard.) We arrived late and David was still there ready to greet us with a smile. He even helped us bring in our bags. There was fresh bread and some basic groceries waiting for us in their homey and immaculate cottage.
Not only is the estate beautiful, the bed incredibly comfortable, but the town is such a sweet place. It was a great place to help us recover from jetlag on our first day and we really enjoyed eating at Powers.
Oughterard is also a great central place to come back to each night! It's a great midway point for towns like Letterfrack, Clifden, Galway, and so many other beautiful areas! We definitely hope to come back! One week wasn't long enough!
Thank you to David, Miriam, and Pocket for your hospitality!
