Area Located on the hill above the bustling village of Westward Ho!, the small village of Northam is home to a restaurant, pub, takeout, and a small supermarket. Westward Ho! is home to a beautiful sandy beach that stretches for two miles, as well as a variety of great places to eat and shop. Surfing and kitesurfing are popular activities here, and in the summer, lifeguards and a dog beach are provided for your convenience. Cycle hire, including child buggies and even dog buggies, are available in Bideford and many other locations along the Tarka Trail, which passes through the city. People who like to walk can visit the Royal North Devon Golf Club, which is located in Northam Burrows, which is part of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the county of Devon. There are breath-taking views of the coast along the coastal path that leads to Peppercombe and Clovelly. It is possible to take a boat trip to Lundy Island from Bideford, and the nearby town of Appledore is home to many attractions, including quaint cobblestone streets, unique shops, delicious restaurants, and fish and chip shops. The Big Sheep and the Milky Way are both not far away, and so are the National Trust properties of Hartland Abbey, RHS Rosemoor, and Dartington Glass. Clovelly is also charming because of its quay, steep cobblestone streets, and donkeys, and because cars are not permitted in the village itself. Northam is ideally situated for exploring a rich variety of attractions.
Region Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
