Heard has never been shy to voice her opinion. At seventeen, the enigmatic L'oreal girl dropped out of high school to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles. Amber no longer felt comfortable in what she described as "Conservative, God-fearin' Texas", where she was reared on horseback riding, hunting and beauty pageants.
The L'Oreal Paris USA website currently lists Amber Heard as a brand ambassador – part of its "Dream Team". They say she's a "modern superheroine", is "witty and smart", "defies stereotypes" and "is committed to making her voice heard". "She is an outspoken advocate for equality in Hollywood, children's and LGBTQ rights," they say.
Before she met Depp, the Texas-born 36-year-old was already a well-known actor, model, and activist. Known for her charity work, she was also named the Human Rights Champion of the United Nations Human Rights Council in 2018.
Now a mother to 1-year-old daughter Oonagh Paige, hopefully, the world will look kindly at a vulnerable star. regardless of the outcome.
