December 2014 - With a net-worth of over $16 billion, thanks primarily to her 12.6% inherited stake in luxury automaker BMW, economist Susanne Klatten is Germany's richest female and quite literally 'BMW's billion dollar woman'.
Together with family members and fellow billionaires: sister Susanne, brother Stefan and mother Johanna Quandt, they own approximately 50% of BMW.
Mother-of-three, Susanne is notoriously reserved and as a member of one of Germany's most famous dynasties, the Quandts, she has spent most of her life surrounded by bodyguards and secrecy.
Klatten also controls and hold shares in several other major corporations including chemical manufacturer Altana and Nordex AG.
