Monday, March 16 - Built in the Italian shipyards of Fincantieri at a cost of 400 million euros, the audacious Four Seasons I cruise ship was officially christened at Pier 1 in the port of Málaga.
Five Star International was delighted to attend the celebrations before she begins her inaugural voyage —a 9-night route that will take her from Malaga waters to the Maltese port of Valletta.
The ultra-luxury cruise ship is home to 95 gigantic suites and guest rooms, alongside a world-class choice of dining, wellness, and entertainment. According to the owners, the elegant design is inspired by the lines of the historic yacht Christina O, owned by the Greek magnate Aristotle Onassis.
Delivering numerous industry firsts, Four Seasons 1 includes the largest and most lavish accommodations in its class. With a gross tonnage of 34,044, a length of 207 meters, and a beam of 27 meters, it has 14 decks, ten of which have cabins. With a maximum capacity of 180 passengers distributed across 95 cabins, the layout includes 60% suites, each with 76 square meters of space, combining interior and exterior areas. The remaining accommodations, known as residential apartments, vary in size, with the largest being located in the ship's funnel at a mind-boggling 927 square meters.
Malaga is fast becoming a luxury destination, and the port will welcome 172,000 passengers aboard 117 ships between March 15 and June 29, 2026, consolidating the breakaway figures recorded last year. In addition to the Four Seasons Yacht, Malaga will be the first European port to receive Royal Caribbean's Legend of the Seas on its maiden voyage, before it begins its summer season in the Mediterranean.
The schedule also includes 21 homeport stops, with the itinerary beginning or ending in Malaga city, featuring MSC Cruises, Marella Cruises and Sea Cloud.
