Seventeen of us arrived at Killaghy Castle for a two week stay. Maria was there to welcome us giving us the history of the castle and providing us with other points of interest is the area. She gave us her phone number to contact her anytime if we needed anything re bus hire, restaurants etc. This was very reassuring for us as we had little local knowledge of the area. The accommodation was wonderful and beyond our expectations. We had central heating which was at our control and an open fire in the living room. The castle has a great culinary kitchen and dining room which we gathered in everyday for our meals. The kitchen was stocked with every utensils that one may need. The living room was comfortable and spacious with plenty of seating for our group. Killaghy Castle is ideally located. We made trips to Kilkenny, Cashel, the Cliffs of Moher, Killarney and Galway. We had a great family reunion and vacation and the location and hosts made this a once in a lifetime experience.

I am a grandfather who brought my children and grandchildren to Killaghy Castle for a 14 day family reunion. The website does not do the place justice. There is such history attached to this castle going back to the 15th and 16th century with original features still intact. I felt privileged to have chosen such a place to stay and be master of the house. I want to thank Maria and Pat for allowing our family to stay in their home for a memorable once in a lifetime unique holiday experience.

The castle's central location was ideal for an amazing tour of Ireland. The accommodation and grounds were superb. There was so much space to move around so we never felt crowded. The extra large catering kitchen came equipped with everything we needed. We would love to go back to Killaghy in the future.

We had a family gathering and spent a long weekend at Killaghy Castle. Pat and Marie were most welcoming and obliging during our stay. The open fire was lighting and the place was cosy and welcoming on arrival. It is secluded in it's location with a mile long avenue perfect for taking short strolls and was safe for our children playing without fear of passing cars. The playground at the entrance gate was well equipped and the children relished their visits there. (Even the exercise stations were used by some of our group!) we came away relaxed and refreshed. We will certainly be returning.
