One of only four Irish restaurants ever to get the honour of winning a Michelin Star in its first year in business.
Husband and wife Jordan and Majken Bech Bailey and their young, multi-award-winning team at Aimsir were awarded two Michelin stars for their ground-breaking restaurant only four months after its opening in May 2019 in the stunning setting of Cliff at Lyons.
Aimsir is led by Cornwall-born chef Jordan Bailey, former head chef at 3-star Michelin Maaemo in Oslo, and his Danish front of house manager and wife Majken Bech-Bailey. They moved to Ireland early last year to explore the food producers and ingredients of their newly adopted home, getting married during their first 6 months here. Jordan was also a key member of the 2-star Michelin Restaurant Sat Bains, while Majken honed her front of house skills at 2-star Michelin Henne Kirkeby Kro. As much as possible, everything served in Aimsir is grown or produced on the island of Ireland. An all-island restaurant, the best producers and growers from all over Ireland have been invited to be part of this new celebration of the most powerful, significant and influential force in this country – the weather.
A Fantastic experience. Every bit was worth the wait to get this booking. 2 Michelin stars is an under statement. Myself and my wife will be bringing friends with us the next time . This is a place that should be put on your bucket list if you enjoy good food. We couldn't rate this experience high enough and if you have to cross oceans to get here you will not be disappointed and will be sorry if you don't

An absolutely incredible dining experience. From the moment you walk in you’ll be transported to a completely new place - your senses will be absolutely indulged. From their own gardens out front, to fantastic cocktails before you head in for a meal. Then the experience really flourishes. An incredible display of everything Irish produce and agriculture have to offer. It was so novel in its approach to displaying everything the local area has to offer and I really cannot recommend it enough.
On another note the wine tasting menu was a treat but I have to say the juices were incredible too - not that I expected anything here would be less than fantastic but it was a real surprise and something I hadn’t tried before.
Looking forward to getting back in the winter to see how they work with ferments and the like - some really amazing fascinations coming out of this kitchen and if you can get a reservation, don’t turn down the opportunity!

My wife and I were absolutely blessed to get a cancellation here just before the October lockdown took effect. To be honest it is hard to find the words as to how good this experience is. I say experience as it is a package here the food is wonderfully inventive and so tasty, the service is knowledgeable and humorous with a superb attention to detail, in a relaxing subtle space. We have been fortunate to eat in many good restaurants but this without a doubt is the best we have ever eaten in (which also was a sort of running joke between my wife and our waiter for most of the evening) when it takes months to make a component of a dish you know you are somewhere special. It is also fascinating to be able to watch chefs working so closely to you and then for them to explain the dish was so interesting, being a chemical engineer the process was fascinating. That many of the chefs were local also bodes very well for food in this country as they seem in very good hands here. We can only say thank you for a real bright spot in what has been a difficult year and we really hope to see you again.
