We love the subtle colour co-ordination between the velvet cushions, shell-shaped armchair, and the leaves of the houseplants in the lounge. The bedrooms have sloped ceilings and multiple bright windows – one of which boasts sweeping views of the town and Whitby Abbey in the distance. After an evening in the pub, take the morning to shake off the gin and tonics with a brisk walk uphill to the abbey, fourteen minutes away. This 7th-century landmark is a spectacular sight, with incredible sea views alongside. And with Whitby train station just a four-minute walk from home, it’s easy to start exploring England in even more depth.
