This beautiful home in the beach-blue heart of Saltburn-by-the-Sea not only makes for a great base from which to explore the North Yorkshire coast, but it really gives you an opportunity to reconnect with nature and find your peace. Start doing so first thing in the morning by taking a cup of freshly-brewed coffee out into the little courtyard. Enjoy it alongside a Full English breakfast and a good helping of fresh, sea air. You might laze around a little longer after that, the velvet couch could be especially hard to give up once you’ve gotten comfortable, but what’s waiting outside will be worth the sacrifice.
Walk nine-minutes to the oldest functioning cliff lift, Saltburn Cliff Tramway, and take it down to the promenade where you can either stroll the 208 metre pier or head to the sandy shores of Saltburn Beach. The beach itself is pretty as a picture with colourful huts lining the walkway, so take all day here if you’d like – listen to the waves lapping on the shore, brave the cold and dip a toe in, find an ice cream van, and go in search of a fish and chips joint when lunchtime swings around.
After, take a late-afternoon stroll along the beautiful Valley Gardens paths to admire flowers and woodland. End the day by visiting any of the surrounding pubs before heading back for some more R&R – preferably with the fire crackling in the wood-burning stove.
