Just a five-minute walk from the Hilton and Metzitzim beaches, this cool apartment is modern, spacious and packed with character. We love the rustic wooden furniture, most of which the host made himself, and the fabulous outdoor spaces – not just one but two. Cleverly designed and decorated with great care, it's a real home from home in this quiet neighbourhood. The sociable living space is open-plan and roomy, with doors out to a charming sun terrace with wicker sofas and pot plants. A stylish kitchen and dining table are perfect for whipping up meals together, and there's a cosy seating area to retreat to in the evenings – with another lounge on the galleried landing. Surrounded by great places to eat, drink and shop, as well as Yarkon Park, it's in an excellent spot too.
Home truths: * There's only one bathroom which, for a house that can sleep eight, is far from ideal
* Be aware there's no lift – there are 60 steps to climb to reach the apartment
* A cot and high chair are available for those travelling with small children – and there's a small single bed in the master bedroom for toddlers
