This homespun villa is a laidback retreat in Portugal’s southernmost region. Inside, it’s all soothing blue tones and a collection of mix-and-match furnishings – we particularly loved the traditional azulejo-inspired tables. Spend unhurried mornings curled up on the plump sofa with an espresso before putting together a tasty breakfast in the fully-equipped kitchen. When the temperature starts to rise, cool off with a swim in your communal pool or seek out a shady spot to kick back with a refreshing beverage.
If you’d like to stretch your legs, the walking trails of Fonte Férrea are a fifteen-minute stroll from your doorstep. Of course, no trip to the Algarve would be complete without a trip to the seaside – fortunately, Faro’s beaches are around half an hour’s drive away. In the early evening, return home for a glass or two of wine on the terrace as the sky turns shades of orange and pink.
