Nestled among the Lake District's postcard-worthy scenery, this cottage has adventures in the great outdoors written all over it. It's just a stone's throw from Ambleside, Grasmere, and Loughrigg Tarn – be sure to pack your hiking shoes because you'll be doing plenty of walking. Part of a small estate, summer evenings are best spent in the enclosed private garden, enjoying sundowners in the fresh air. Inside is comfortable and cosy, if a bit corporate feeling – although we think the vaulted beamed ceilings in the bedrooms are a nice touch. Two soaker baths will keep sore muscles to a minimum, and private parking means you can explore far and wide with ease.
Home truths: *This home is on a private estate, with neighbouring cottages nearby. While the enclosed garden is private, you may hear and see other guests during your stay.
*We suggest hiring a car for ease in this location. There's on-site parking for two cars. There's also a local bus service stopping in Skelwith Bridge if you don't want to drive.
*One well-behaved dog is welcome to join you. They must stay downstairs and aren't allowed on any furniture.
*Both bathtubs have hand-held showerheads. However, there are no shower curtains which may make using them challenging.
*The finish on this home is a little soulless. It probably won't suit guests seeking plenty of character.
