Not so much a villa as a holiday resort in microcosm, this Dalmatian address is a well-deserved entry into our collection.
It's clear that the architect behind the boxy white home wanted to make the most of the glorious view of the Adriatic Sea and Croatian islands in the distance and as a result, guests can admire this picturesque scenery while paddling about in the heated infinity swimming pool, taking a breather on the bedroom's balcony or dining out on the terrace.
The design throughout is as luxurious as any high-end hotel — think chandeliers, leather sofas and a whirlpool tub in one of the bathrooms — and the gym and sauna on the lower ground floor only add weight to this comparison.
As if that wasn't enough, the host can sort out all sorts of decadent extras, including boat rental, private chefs and personalised tours. If you want to see this corner of the country on your own terms, however, the beach town of Omiš takes all of five minutes to reach in the car and despite its modest size, offers everything from a historic fortress to a huge zipline. How's that for a varied afternoon out?
Home truths: *There’s free parking available in the home's garage
*A cot and high chair can be provided if required
*Pets aren't normally permitted, but small dogs might be allowed with prior permission from the host
*There are a pair of mountain bikes, a kayak and a standup paddleboard available for guests to borrow
*Although there's a guest room with a sofa bed on the ground floor, the three double bedrooms are on the first floor, so it might not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility
