Perched on a hilltop above Santa Margherita Ligure, this villa puts you on the route of the Cinque Terre – five towns that cluster rainbow-bright around coves and harbours. It’s a six-minute walk into the charming town centre for meals on the waterfront, just remember it’s a steep walk back up the hill. But the views are worth it – gaze out over the rooftops and shimmering sea from the sprawling terrace. It’s all about dining, reclining and unwinding in the pool or hot tub out here. Two kitchens (one indoors and one covered outdoors) will keep the chef of the group happy and sliding open the glass doors blends the terrace with the huge, open living room.
Home truths: *While not all bathrooms are photographed, expect the style and quality to be consistent with the rest of the home.
*The swimming pool isn't fenced.
*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a high chair with advance notice.
*Well-behaved dogs are welcome to accompany you during your stay.
*It's a six-minute walk into town for shops and restaurants, but it's very steep and coming back up might be a challenge for those with limited mobility. For those driving, some of the roads can be tight and narrow.
*Some guests felt this home looked a little tired in parts and would've appreciated more towels and sheets.
*The kitchen appliances, such as the toaster and microwave, are a tad dated and could do with replacing.
