When it comes to soaking up the sunshine, the Algarve never disappoints – and, it has to be said, neither does this home. You can dine alfresco in the garden and cool off in the private pool – although both are slightly overlooked by neighbours. Upstairs, a balcony with lounge chairs is an ideal spot to savour a cocktail. If the weather isn't up to its usual standards, the indoor patio makes a nice escape – we're big fans of the hand-painted tiles and skylight. Another thing we enjoy is the location. You're about ten minutes from Vilamoura's buzzing marina and beaches, with easy access to the rest of the coastline when you fancy adventures further afield.
Home truths: *The twin bedroom has a trundle bed. We think it's best for children.
*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a free cot and high chair on request.
*Though you'll have your own garden here, the neighbouring property is very close with low fences. Privacy may be limited.
*While the garden overlooks a golf course, the views of the chain link fence aren't the most inspiring. The terrace and balcony are looking a little tired and could do with a refresh.
*We suggest hiring a car for ease in this location. There's one gated parking space available, plus on-street parking if further spots are needed.
