On the edge of Pašman island, this Croatian villa is all about sun, sea and sand (well, pebble beaches). A minutes’ walk will see you at the turquoise shallows of the Adriatic, lapping at a sheltered sand and pebble bay, so if you forget a towel or sunscreen just pop back home. The villa is modern yet designed in the style of a traditional Croatian home with wooden shutters and wood-beams in the bedrooms. A green patch of garden is shaded by olive trees where there’s everything you need for outdoor dining and lounging. We love the sun-trap terrace on the first floor, looking out over the garden. The open-plan kitchen and living room is bright and breezy, with sleek cabinets, mod cons and a stylish design. Bedrooms facing the front of the house come with glorious sea views. It’s 1km from the nearest shop and a handful of local restaurants in Tkon if you don’t fancy cooking.
Home truths: *The beach is only 80 meters away – a mix of sand and pebble
*The nearest shop is 1km away, which is walkable but perhaps not for children in the heat of the day
*There is air conditioning in the living area but not in the bedrooms
*Pets are welcome by prior arrangement with the host
*There is uncovered parking at the front of the villa
*Two additional guests can be accommodated on the sofa bed in the living room
