We love the location of this villa – set high in the hills above the twinkly turquoise waters of Kalo Livadi Bay in southern Mykonos and framing a spectacular view of the bay and Aegean Sea beyond. Spread out over several levels and terraces, with a separate guest house for anyone who fancies a little extra privacy, it takes its design cues from traditional Greek-island homes. Outside, whitewashed walls deliver an authentically Aegean feel, while inside you’ll find some of the cool rooms with exposed beams painted white, while others take inspiration from the natural surroundings, like the terracotta bathrooms and a sea-blue kitchen. But as you might expect from a Greek-island escape, the home really shines when it comes to indoor-outdoor living. There’s a covered terrace with comfortable rattan furniture for your morning coffees, a shady pergola hiding a large dining table with room for everyone as well several other private terraces. And that’s before we even get to the saltwater pool: designed in a unique shape, it perfectly offsets the vista beyond, offering a panorama to enjoy while bobbing around on an inflatable or getting in your laps.
