Facilities The Coach House kitchen is fitted with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, counter-top freezer, microwave, electric oven and ceramic hob. Other equipment includes toaster, kettle, a variety of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. A television (with Netflix), CD player is provided in the living room and wireless broadband is available throughout the property. (Does not include a DVD player, June 2023)
Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. The Coach House has underfloor heating which is controlled by a thermostat and can be adjusted to suit your preferences.
Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips.
A small amount of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive. There may also be other non-perishable items like a salt, pepper and a few herbs or spices available.
Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher powder, washing powder/liquid and surface cleaner will be present in the property. One or two toilet rolls will be provided.
Location The harbour is the 'centre' of Porlock Weir, which is less than 1/4 mile from The Coach House. There are two restaurants (The Cafe and Miller's at the Anchor), a pub (all three are dog-friendly) and a range of individual shops such as tea rooms, Exmoor Glass, etc.
The village of Porlock is approximately 1.5 miles from The Coach House and boasts three pubs, two grocery shops, a traditional local butcher, chemist, cash machine, hardware shop, visitor centre and a range of independent restaurants, shops and tea rooms.
Many of the shops in Porlock Weir and Porlock are open during traditional hours of 9 am to 5 pm, although hours are often extended during the summer season. Conversely, some shops also reduce their opening hours out of season.
Minehead is the nearest town, approximately 7 miles from The Coach House. Here you will find the larger supermarkets and petrol stations (Tesco and Morrison's are both situated on the outskirts of the town and have longer opening hours), most major high street banks with cash machines, plus a range of other shops throughout the town.
