Antique mesquite wood and thick beams made from recycled ‘Trojes’ from the state of Michoacán combine with hand-crafted furnishings and objets d'art from around the globe to create a cocooning effect in the instantly inviting living space. We love the meticulous attention to detail, from the 19th-century River Teak door and raw quartzite chef's kitchen, to the locally-sourced artwork and Colombian artisan hammock, weaved over four months – everything about this home is expertly put together.

Whether you're washing up in the stone-cadded bathroom, enjoying a book in the cosy reading nook besides a crackling fire, or settling down for a movie night in the upper-floor TV room on a custom-made modular sofa, it's hard not to be impressed.
