Whether it's the photography prints by Rui Palha, the designer furniture, or the two terraces, there's a lot to be impressed by in Sterling Honey. The location is everything you could want in a trip to Lisbon, while the design is thoughtful and measured, but still with great on-point style and flair. The apartment (along with the others in the building) underwent a renovation by architect Ricardo Flora – he made a concerted effort to modernise the interiors without sacrificing the history of the original structure. From the terracotta walls on the terrace to the use of natural materials through the furnishings and the tiled gas fireplace – it's a space that redefines the original character with a contemporary twist. After an afternoon of discovering the neighbourhood's sought after shopping boutiques, why not come home and pour a glass of wine to sip out on the private terrace? Then once you're well-rested and ready for another dose of Lisbon, make a reservation for dinner at one of the nearby local restaurants. If you're in the mood for Portuguese food, then, of course, you're in the right place, but with the wealth of international cuisine available here – you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to wining and dining in this central spot in the city.
