Cross the road and you'll arrive at Whitby’s West Cliff beach, a blue-flag beach where you can paddle or stroll along the sand, ice cream in hand. There are plenty of nearby seafood restaurants where you can savour the fresh catch of the day, along with independent boutiques and cosy pubs dotted along the cobbled streets. Don't forget to walk up the 199 steps, made famous by Bram Stoker's 'Dracula', to visit the iconic ruined cathedral. And, if you fancy exploring the gorgeous local countryside, then the North York Moors National Park is just outside the town.
