It was love at first sight when we clapped our eyes on this eco shepherd's hut, squirreled away in the sleepy village of Moylegrove along the North Pembrokeshire coastline.
With the mighty Pembrokeshire Coast National Park just a stone's throw away, this is a home to embrace the great outdoors and escape the outside world. Discover vast beaches and secluded, sandy coves just a fifteen-minute walk away. Embrace the sea with kayaking and dolphin-spotting boat trips. Or, for something a little more genteel, there are independent shops, galleries and fabulous restaurants just a short drive away in the nearby villages.
Back at home, we love the contemporary design aesthetic of this shepherd's hut, with copper and matt black accents letting the birch-clad interiors sing. A king-sized bed decked out in Egyptian cotton sheets and a rainfall shower room next door dial up the luxury. And the welcome hamper crammed with organic goodies (think fresh eggs straight from the host's hens and homemade bread) has everything you need to rustle up breakfast in the smart kitchenette. Or, let your host, Megan cook up a feast for you over at the main house.
A home for all seasons, in winter months, hunker down beside the wood-burning fire as sunsets stream through the picture windows. And in the summer months, see day turn to night beside the fire-pit (which handily doubles as your barbecue) – the stargazing is out of this world.
Home truths: *There’s limited signal and no WiFi here – the perfect excuse to down tools for a while, we think
*Your hosts are part of The Greener Camping Club and as part of your booking you will also receive a year-long membership
*A tree will be planted for every guest that stays at the hut to help offset carbon footprints
*You’ll share the wider garden grounds of the shepherd's hut with your hosts and their friendly three cats, two dogs, and chickens – if bringing pets with you, please ensure they are kept on a lead when in the main garden if they are reactive to any of these animals
