The local town of Shaftesbury, with a good range of shops and inns, is perched on a spur of rolling green hills with spectacular views reaching far across the rural landscape. One of the best vantage points is from Gold Hill (instantly recognisable as the setting of the iconic Hovis advert with its quaint, cobbled and very steep street. Motcombe sits amidst rolling countryside at the edge of the picturesque Blackmore Vale, and close to the Cranborne Chase AONB as well as many other areas of natural beauty and exceptional heritage, including the National Trust’s Stourhead. A wonderful location to explore the best of the West Country, and only just over an hour’s drive to the stunning Jurrassic Coast.
