Surrounded by the beautiful Iford Valley and set within the Grade-I listed Iford Manor Gardens, it’s hard to imagine a more idyllic or exclusive setting for this period cottage. Originally part of the medieval stables of the neighbouring manor house, the owners have transformed the Grade-II listed building into a home full of period charm.
From alfresco barbecues on the private south-facing patio garden to intimate sit-down dinners in the atmospheric dining room, this home is well-suited for entertaining. When the sun shines, take your evening drinks out onto the front terrace with its sublime views of the River Frome. On winter nights, spill out onto the Chesterfield sofas for some board games or delve into the library of books.
When it’s time to explore the award-winning estate, you won’t have far to go. The gardens start right from your back door – and you’ll have them all to yourself before they open to the public each day. Lose yourself in the meandering pathways – and if you time it right, take in a summer concert beneath the cloisters. When thoughts turn to food, there’s a delightful outdoor café terrace and restaurant within the gardens. Or, you can hop in the car for lunch and a wander in historic Bath – you’ll be there in fifteen minutes flat.
