Pine Green Paradise

If overlooking the coast from the edge of an infinity pool has always been on your bucket list, it's time to get down to this Mediterranean oasis. Perched in Massa Lubrense, the panoramic views are but one of the reasons we fell in love with this villa. The various balconies offer ample outdoor seating, and there are also dining tables made for alfresco dining. With a stone oven, you can put pizza-making skills to the test. And the hot tub, though indoors, still has a view of the lush garden. True, the indoors can't compete with the sweeping landscape, but it's bright and comfortable with plenty of room – even for guests sleeping on the sofa beds.

Home truths:
*At full occupancy, three guests will be sleeping on the sofa beds in the fourth and fifth bedrooms.
*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot for free. You'll need to request it in advance.
*Stag and hen parties – or any other groups of guests under the age of 24 – are not allowed here.
*The traditional decor here might not be to everyone's taste. It feels a little dated in parts.
*If you want to stock up on essentials during your stay, you'll find the closest supermarket minutes away.
