The kitchenette facilities are just outside, under the oak-framed gazebo. It comprises a 2-ring gas hob for boiling water for tea or coffee and basic cooking, along with a selection of saucepans, frying pans, crockery and cutlery.
The Yurt and outdoor kitchen are both powered by solar energy offering a fully off-grid experience. This provides lights, a camping fridge and phone charging points. There is no running water at the yurt, but mains tap (drinking) water is available in the nearby facilities building where the shared washing up area is, just 50 metres from the yurt, along a stone/gravel pathway.
The toilet and hot shower is also located in the facilities building, it's a private and lockable toilet/shower room for your sole use, so you can leave your personal items there. Towels and toiletries are included. Each unit has it's own allocated toilet/shower.
Location The small hamlet of Allerford is probably most well known for the well-photographed 15th century pack horse bridge and the local National Trust and picture-perfect thatched country cottages, also in nearby Selworthy and Bossington. Minehead is the nearest town, with supermarkets and other shops, approx 10 minute drive.
There are many walks from the doorstep - within easy access is Bossington beach and Porlock Weir or head up onto North Hill or Dunkery Beacon for amazing views across the Bristol Channel to Wales.
