Area Launceston is situated on the Devon and Cornwall border and is dominated by the ruins of a Norman castle which sits high above the town. Launceston also offers wonderful architecture including exquisite Georgian buildings. Just three miles away is the Tamar Otter Park and taking a trip on the steam train from Launceston through the beautiful Kensey Valley on a 5 mile round trip is essential. Other places to visit are the stunning Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor and with delightful seaside towns nearby, Launceston is a perfect base all year round.
Region Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.
