But for those craving some boutique shopping and buzzing nightlife, Lagos is an easy fifteen drive away.

When you're not dipping your toes in the Atlantic or admiring the views from the iconic Rocha Negra, we bet we'll find you basking in the sunshine back at home. You've got options when it comes to relaxing in the fresh air – upstairs, the main suite's balcony is a sweet spot to enjoy your morning coffee, while downstairs, a small patio with lounge chairs overlooks the complex's sparkling communal pool. It's just a few steps from your living room, so you can easily enjoy an afternoon swim before heading out for the evening.

Speaking of the lounge, we love how cosy and bright the interiors are. The squishy sofa beckons after a long day on your feet – sprawl out with a bowl of popcorn and watch your favourite Netflix movie or turn on the Playstation 4 and get gaming. Come evening, rustle up a delicious meal in the well-stocked kitchen, open a bottle of Portugal's Vinho Verde wine and dine alfresco as the sun goes down.
