This show-stopping villa is smart in more ways than one. Complete with a pool, hot tub and a cabana, chances are you'll spend most of your time entertaining out here, making the most of the gorgeous California weather. Fire up the barbecue for an alfresco feast, then spend evenings snuggling up by the outdoor fire with your favourite movie on the flatscreen. Upstairs on the roof terrace, you can play human chess, unwind in the jacuzzi under the stars or simply enjoy a drink and bask in the panoramic views of Los Angeles – you can even spot the famous Hollywood sign in the distance. The location is excellent, too. Less than a block away is Melrose Avenue, where you'll find boutiques, coffee shops and plenty of bars and restaurants when you don't feel like cooking. And if you'd like to get a closer look at the Hollywood sign, Griffth Park Observatory is only a twenty-minute drive away.
