Sitting in the middle of the town of Dronfield, this recently renovated apartment is simple but stylish. The palette of muted colours and soft furnishings are both soothing and welcoming, while there are a few characterful touches in the form of the framed sheet music and bare industrial-chic lightbulbs on the walls.
We're reserving our biggest praise, however, for the kitchen. With many apartments of a similar size, they can all too often look as if they were constructed as an afterthought, but the cooking quarters here are large, light and easy on the eye – it's the sort of space that can withstand the sort of grand culinary projects that results in lots of messy pans and utensils.
You'll need a hearty dinner or two with the number of outdoor excursions that lie nearby. The outer edge of the Peak District National Park is only ten minutes' drive from the home, with a wealth of scenic walking routes and historical attractions lying beyond. For a complete change of scenery, the centre of Sheffield can be reached in around twenty-five minutes in the car, too.
