The position of Maestro d’Oro, almost as central as is possible in Milan, would be enough to go on by itself, but luckily, Laura and her team haven’t stopped there. It’s a lovely flat, with an enormous kitchen and living space. All the sofas are incredibly comfortable, and the bedrooms all get very dark at night, so encroaching light shouldn’t be much of an issue. The square outside – framed by the enormous windows – is quite busy, but the trees do a good job of blocking the view to the road below.
Home truths: *We found a few scuff marks on the walls, mainly in the bedrooms
*The floor-to-ceiling windows are great, but they create a slight fishbowl effect in the living room
*As the flat is right in the middle of Milan, you can expect noise from passing trams and nearby construction
*Two people can sleep on a sofa bed in the living room
