Let’s say “Thank You” to all golfers who love this golf course and stay at this resort. I belong to the minority of people who don’t play golf, who love walking on the beach and enjoy nature. Without you golfers I would not have the chance to visit this comfortable resort. This time we booked a cottage. This is a step beyond a hotel room. You enjoy the feeling of home and appreciate the amenities of a luxury hotel: concierge, breakfast, fine dining, spa etc. You have to look a long time for a spot like this.

The Trump Doonbeg Hotel and Golf Resort was the highlight of our trip to Ireland. From the moment we drove up the resort is immaculate and breathtaking. Adam at the front desk checked us in and immediately noted we were celebrating a special occasion on this trip!!! He was warm, kind and very gracious. We had many opportunities to talk with him during our stay and enjoyed the conversations. It was refreshing to be able to speak freely with him. Robert showed us to our room and from the moment we walked into the 1 bedroom link cottage we were blown away!!! This is more than just a 5 star hotel, this is a 5 star experience that would exceed our expectations. We had a beautiful living room, with comfortable coach, chairs and a fireplace, a full kitchen with dining, a gorgeous bathroom with heated tile floors and a walk in rain shower and an amazingly comfortable bed in the cozy bedroom. Every day we turned on the tv to a personalized message to us! We were so comfortable with our accommodations we didn’t want to leave the resort at first.

Ann Marie the hostess at breakfast suggested a visit to Kilkee to see the cliffs (much like the cliffs of Moehrer)but more accessible and intimate with a great walking path and hike along the cliffs. What a gem!!! We loved it there! Thank you so much for the suggestion.
Shannon waited on us several mornings and was a sweetheart. She didn’t always know the answers to all our questions but would enquire and get the answers for us. We had many great conversations with her and looked forward to seeing her at breakfast.

And Roberts who showed us to our room, we had the opportunity to chat with Robert and Adam for a bit and had some great conversations with him!!! He always looked for us and greeted us when he saw us and was a straightforward honest chap who shared some wonderful insights with us!!!!!

We really had the most amazing experience and want to come back for a week next time. We met some of the finest people in all of Ireland at the Doonbeg resort!

"Feels like Home!"
We have loved our time at Trump’s Doonbeg. The General Manager Michael is your next door neighbor that you haven’t met yet. He goes out of his way to chat with the guests every day and to get to know you. He even helps with your luggage himself. You feel like a guest in Michael’s home. The rooms are all very spacious, well furnished, and homey. The kitchens are quite nice. I have ONE complaint, it’s very hard for a woman to do her hair here. As there is no hard wired hair dryer, you have to find a spot to plug one in. We rearranged the furniture to set up a make shift vanity by a window for some light next to a plug and used a small make up mirror in the bathroom. The rooms are small apartments and plenty large enough to do a seated vanity with a mirror, a light, a full sized mirror and a good hair dryer. The golf course is amazing, bring something that covers your ears. The window blows hard in them. The spa facilities are nice but not 5 star. However my massage was quite excellent. Even the spa has a makeshift way to dry your hair after a shower. The food has all been fantastic wether it was room service, Trumps Bar or the fancy Ocean View restaurant. We really love it here and will definitely return!

Keep this one a secret - it's that special. The website, for once, paints a proper picture. An inmate property with a club like feel ( it is also a private club). Even if you are not a member you are treated as if you are. Stunning views, don't need to be a golfer to enjoy the resort. Lovely spa and plenty of sights to explore nearby.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. It was in such a serene setting with a view of the very challenging golf course and ocean. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. The staff was very helpful, friendly and professional.
