In the exclusive Portofino peninsula, this villa is a ten-minute walk from the harbour's designer shops and seafood restaurants. You'll have private access to the sea on a small rocky platform, and the large terrace is shaded by century-old wisteria with space for alfresco dining. Some of the decor is a little dated and won't be to everyone's taste, but all the bedrooms have lovely sea views. Parking is limited, and although the sea is on your doorstep, it's worth noting that the nearest beach is best reached by public transport.
Home truths: *There are ground-floor bedrooms and bathrooms here. Some beds are made up of two singles pushed together. *Bed linens are provided here and changed twice weekly. There is also a daily maid service for eight hours a day from Monday to Saturday. *You'll have private access to the sea from this home – there are around 112 steps down to the sea, and a small rock platform from where you can swim or sit. The nearest beach is Baya Paraggi, though – this is a longer walk away, or a short drive/bus journey. *About 300m from the villa, there is an elevator connecting the harbour with the road to Portofino's lighthouse. *Dinner is included on your first night at the villa – it's vegetarian-friendly and the menu for this can't be changed.
