Outstanding Lakeside Victorian Manor House In Walled Estate
This historic house is one of the jewels in the crown of Killarney accommodation. Its location alone is unrivalled, sitting on a slight rise overlooking the lakes and mountains, in a peaceful countryside setting but still within walking distance to Killarney town and across the street from the entrance to the national park.
The house itself, like the setting is totally unique, it has kept its old world charm but with modern conveniences discreetly included. This period house has an interesting history mirroring the history of Ireland from the landlord era to present day.
The rooms are all large with the drawing room and dining room featuring some wonderful antique furniture and large bay windows with lake views. The bedrooms have their own private bathroom. The kitchen is modernly equipped with the addition of an AGA stove which will be the one piece of equipment you will long to take home with you. The kitchen larder which s an old confession box adds to the charm.
The grounds are large with huge lawns and mature gardens with some very interesting features, like a pond and it's natural water fountain. The entrance to the National Park is just across the street, which allows your party to pursue different interests. Maybe it's a jog or a romantic lakeside stroll or visiting an old abbey, its all there on your doorstep.
We also have two self-catering courtyard cottages available on the property, that are rented separately.

"Fantastic Irish Farmhouse" This was a golf trip to the south of Ireland with 7 close friends. The House was a great base from which we ventured out daily to the different golf courses we played. It is a few kilometres from Killarney and a 5-minute cab ride into town. The house has that quaint Victorian feel on a large expanse of land. All the rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. The wifi works well and John and Eileen are great hosts ( they live just behind the house). We also had an Irish breakfast each morning before our departure, which they prepared. Eileen would also leave cupcakes or some sort of dessert in the kitchen for us to snack on. The refrigerator was always full of ice and all the amenities worked well and were at our disposal.
A great retreat I would recommend

Great hosts. Fantastic house with stunning views of the lakes. Great base for exploring all that Killarney has to offer. Easy access to national park from across the road. Had a wonderful stay and will hopefully be back again

We are just back from spending 5 nights in the house. We had a fantastic time. We were three families and found the house ideal. There are 5 large bedrooms upstairs and all are ensuite. There are two bedrooms downstairs that share a bathroom so it was like a separate apartment so gave a bit of privacy / separation. The kids loved walking across the road to the lake for a swim, no bags to pack, just wore their togs and brought a towel. They also loved playing in the garden: on the tyre swing, slide, the large grass space and of course the lovely ponies and donkey added to the fun. John and Eileen were wonderful hosts. Very reactive to questions and had some great local tips to share.
